What is payment by autogiro and how to start it?
Set it and forget it – simple, secure payments straight from your bank account. Trusted across Sweden, Autogiro makes paying your insurance smooth and worry-free, whether you're on monthly or annual billing. Autogiro is a Swedish direct debit service that lets us automatically withdraw your premiums from your bank account on the due date. Once you’ve set it up, payments happen automatically – no reminders, no missed deadlines. You stay in control and get peace of mind.
To activate your Autogiro payment, log in to your banking app, search for Ominimo, and select the correct Bankgiro number: 869-7443.
Can I use autogiro if I don’t have a Swedish bank account?
No, you cannot use Autogiro without a Swedish bank account. Autogiro requires: (1) a Swedish personal identity number (personnummer) or coordination number and (2) a bank account with a Swedish bank that's connected to Bankgirot (Sweden’s clearing system). Even if you have a foreign bank account within the EU, it won’t work with Autogiro—only SEK-denominated accounts at Swedish banks are accepted.
When will the autogiro payment be deducted from my account?
The autogiro payment will be withdrawn from your account on the 28th of the month, depending on when you set up your autogiro authorization:
A) If you authorize Autogiro by the 15th of the month, we will withdraw the payment on the 28th of the same month.
B) If you authorize Autogiro after the 15th, the first withdrawal will take place on the 28th of the following month.
After that, payments will continue automatically on the 28th of each month, as long as your Autogiro remains active.

How does the online payment banking process work?
After choosing the payment method during your check-out on our website, the payment is initiated, which takes you to Rapyd's secure communication channel payment page. To complete the payment, you need to provide your credentials, e.g., for autogiro or your credit card number with expiration date, and the 3-digit validation code on the back of the card. After initiating the transaction, you undergo real-time authorization, including checks for authenticity, coverage, and purchase limits. If all the data is correct to proceed with the transaction, the charge is immediately applied.
In what cases can a transaction be unsuccessful?
- Insufficient funds – Your bank account didn’t have enough money on the scheduled withdrawal date (28th), which may cause the payment to fail.
- Missing or delayed authorization – If you didn’t complete the Autogiro authorization in time (by the 15th), the first payment will be postponed to the following month.
- Revoked mandate – You may have cancelled your Autogiro authorization through your bank or with us.
- Account not eligible – The bank account you provided isn’t a Swedish account or doesn’t support Autogiro payments.
- Bank processing issue – Technical issues at your bank may delay or prevent the withdrawal.
- Changed account details – If you’ve recently changed bank accounts without updating your Autogiro details, payments may be rejected.
Potential reasons for errors with Credit Card:
- Card or Account Issues: You have insufficient credit limit to cover the purchase or exceeded your daily / monthly transaction limit. Your card is expired, blocked or inactive
- Input Errors: Incorrect card number, CVV, or expiration date, wrong billing address, or you used an unsupported card (e.g., Diners)
- Security & Fraud Checks: Failed 3D Secure verification (e.g., via SMS, app, or fingerprint), suspicious transaction flagged (your bank blocked the payment because it triggered a fraud alert)
- Technical or Merchant Issues: The payment processor or gateway is temporarily down
What to do in case of payment procedure failure?
A transaction identifier is always generated, which we recommend noting down. If the transaction is rejected by your bank during the payment attempt, please contact your account-holding bank.
Why contact the account-holding bank in case of payment failure?
During verification, the account-holding (card-issuing) bank informs the merchant's (acceptor's) bank whether the transaction can be carried out. The accepting bank cannot disclose confidential information to another bank's customer; only the bank identifying the cardholder has that right.
What does it mean if I received an SMS from my bank about the amount being reserved/locked, but the merchant/service provider indicates that the payment was unsuccessful?
This phenomenon can occur if the card verification takes place on the payment page, but you do not return to the merchant/service provider's website. In this case, the transaction is incomplete and automatically considered unsuccessful. In such cases, the amount is not debited from your card, and the reservation is released.
After payment, my browser warned me that I am leaving the security zone. Is my payment still secure?
Absolutely yes. The payment process occurs through HTTPS with at minimum TLS1.2 encrypted communication channel, ensuring complete security. After the transaction, you will return to the merchant's website. If the merchant's site is not encrypted, your browser will warn you that you have left the encrypted channel. This does not pose a threat to the security of the payment.
What does the CVC2/CVV2 code mean?
For MasterCard, it is called Card Verification Code (CVC2), and for Visa, it is called Card Verification Value (CVV2). It is a numerically encoded value on the magnetic stripe of the credit card, used to verify the authenticity of the card during online purchases. The CVC2 code for MasterCard/Maestro cards is the last three digits in the number sequence on the back of the card, and it is required during online transactions.
